Canoeing

An Adventure to Remember

The Lower Zambezi National Park is one of the few places in Africa where you can do a canoeing safari. On this exceptional safari, our experienced guides will introduce you to everything that lives along the riverbanks, and in the river. From rare birdlife to hippo pods and crocodiles, it is truly an adventure to remember.

There are few experiences more incredible than drifting down the Zambezi, propelled by the current paddled by your own guide, providing a new perspective of the river from river level – in it, on it, by it and with it. This is a slower, quieter way to experience the majesty of the fourth longest river in Africa and all the wildlife that exists by its might.

FAQ's

Where do we canoe?

Canoe trips on the Zambezi River always run downstream as the current can be unpredictable. Our guides, having grown up on the Zambezi, use their experience to help you navigate the waters safely.

Tell me more about the canoes?

Our Canadian-styled, canoes are three years old and made with fibre-glass. Each canoe trip will come with experienced guides, life jackets, radios and first-aid kits to keep you safe.

What happens along the way?

Our professional guides will point out all kinds of wildlife, plant life and birdlife, whilst regaling you with interesting stories of the Zambezi River. Upon completion of your canoe trip, a 4×4 Land Cruiser or riverboat will collect you to continue on your game-spotting adventure.
